I’m a HUGE Toy Story fan but my newest tattoo has a lot more meaning to me than just a Disney quote. I’m only 24 and I know how I want to spend the rest of my life and I actually think it’s possible for me to achieve my dreams and live the life I’ve always dreamed of. Traveling and being a photographer plus everything else on my bucket list. I know the possibilities are endless on where my life can go but more importantly they are all attainable. I may not be where I want to be but I’m closer to it and going to get there. The support of my friends and family and an awesome photography support group has helped me see that. ❤
This weekend I went to York, Pennsylvania to hang out with my best friends! Brittany and I have been friends since elementary school and she has moved to PA for her job. Kristie, Ali and I went to spend the weekend to catch up. It is ALWAYS a blast with these three. I couldn’t ask for better friends! On Saturday we went to Moon Dancer Vineyards and Winery for a wine tasting and live music.
I’m so mad at myself for not walking around and taking better pictures of the Winery and Vineyard. It was gorgeous, and the view of the river was amazing.
The three above photos are compliments of Ali. 🙂
Its hard to go out in public with these two. Wine or no wine they act the same. 😉
I’m also mad that we only took an iPhone photo of me and Kristie! ❤
Such a cool truck parked at the vineyard. Great photo ops 🙂
I really like to play around with my editing style from time to time. The dramatic contrasts or the simple matte can change images drastically. I’m loving the black and white matte photo of Ali.
I also wanted to show a before and after of this pool image. We went to a luau at Brittany’s apartment and so there were plenty of people in the pool but with the help of photoshop you’d never know!
There was a couple raffles going on and Ali was the lucky duck to win the lottery tickets! She ended up winning $13 dollars too.
This weekend was much needed R&R and so much laughter. Can’t wait to hang out again guys ❤
This post has been long overdue. Exactly a month ago I had the opportunity to travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to learn from two of my favorite photographers, Trisha and Madison. I’ve been able to get to know them online a bit over the past months and finally got to meet them in person! It is always fun to get together and talk to like minded photographers who understand where you’re at and know how to help you get better. This workshop was just that mixed with a lot of learning, shooting and a whole lot of fun.
On Friday I flew out to Tulsa for a workshop to ADVANCE my business. Madison of Madison Vining Photography and Trisha of TG Photography hosted the Advance Workshop. They shared all their tips and tricks from what “Must –Have” equipment, to posing, editing and marketing your business to be the best business it can be. Trisha picked me up from the airport and took me to Chick-fil-a before dropping me off at my hotel. I love her.
Trisha has the most adorable studio that gave me SERIOUS studio & prop envy. She specializes in newborn photography and is fantastic at what she does. Her images are so timeless and gorgeous! Madison is an on location photographer who loves senior girls and boudoir! Her signature sun-drenched images seriously are to die for. I wish she was photographing seniors when I was a senior in high school. These two entrepreneurs are amazing photographers and they know how to run a business and balance their family.
The first demonstration was newborns! We were lucky enough to have two perfect sleepy babies, one boy and one girl. Cohen was first and Preslee was next. We learned set ups and posing and of course newborn safety is the utmost importance.
In between the shoots we went through marketing our business and getting the most out of social media along with exactly how they edit their images. I’ve been having fun playing around the Photoshop actions and textures and all the goodies we received in our swag. The actions have cut down my editing time by hours. I’m obsessed!
The family session was a bit overwhelming for Asher at first but he of course warmed up to us and Raegan was workin’ it for everyone’s camera. She told us about her snake and chameleon and then caught a frog at one location!
Sydney. What do I even need to say about this stunning girl. I mean come on! Who looks like that in high school? Its not fair. But she was so amazing at modeling for all of us and kept up with all of the directions and all of the cameras. I had such an amazing time photographing her!
Is it wrong that my favorite part was winning prizes and getting swag? No.. didn’t think so. I won a Studio Baby posing puck and a newborn fabric backdrop! Then the bag of swag included a bunch of goodies and a USB full of actions, how to videos, templates and more. Plus this super cute bracelet that I want to wear all the time and never take off.
I did get a coaching call included and decided to pick Madison’s brain more on Seniors. I enjoyed it so much that it really made me want to start getting into the whole world of senior photography. I have lots of great ideas I know you all are going to love! If you are high school senior and would like to have your senior portraits done contact me for an amazing portfolio building deals! Spaces are limited so don’t hesitate and book now! 🙂
Here is the awesome video from the workshop!

I can’t believe its already June! 2013 is flying by but it means that summer is near and thats when the fun begins. Vacations, cook outs, concerts, roller coasters and more fun! Next weekend I will start my summer fun (and learning) in Oklahoma for a workshop from two of my favorite photographers!
In 2011 I was at the Katy Perry Concert, which from the 15+ concerts I’ve been to, has been THE best concert!
This summer I am going to see Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z in August and I CANT WAIT! The last time I saw Justin Timberlake in concert was in 2000!
The roller coaster is from Hershey Park, in Pennsylvania! Hopefully I get to go to a new amusement park this year.
Do you have any fun plans for this summer?
I said after my brothers wedding I would have awesome pictures.. And while I have a few images from the weekend. I realized… I didn’t take a picture of the happy couple. Well, minus the few I snapped with my iPhone. Truth is, I wanted to enjoy myself, and while I enjoy taking photographs, it was nice not worrying about taking pictures. They hired the wonderful Michelle, who is the owner and photographer of Dimery Photography! So I left it to the professional! She also gave me permission to share the sneak peak which we all LOVE. We can’t wait to see the rest!
But now onto the weekend..
We started Thursday off way too early for my liking and flew up from BWI first thing in the AM. Dunkin Donuts is a recurring theme in this trip.
After we landed, got to the hotel and changed we went exploring in Newport. We ended up at The Black Pearl for lunch and sat outside. Although we ALL forgot sunglasses and it was painfully bright out.
We took a walk around the harbor and stopped in a few shops!
For dinner we went to Duffy’s Tavern and Restaurant, where they have Chicken Maryland, and Maryland Crab Cakes. The Chicken Maryland was delicious!
And more and more and more seafood!
Fell asleep at the decorating party, woke up with a fluffy dog on top of me.
Friday was a day of setting up and getting everything ready at Camp Hoffman.
We had signs to make and centerpieces to put together, along with other decorations and lights to hang.
Their guest book!
Friday Night was the “Rehearsal Dinner” where everyone in town was welcome to join at Salvation Cafe!
Guess what.. My dress had pockets and that makes it 100x’s better.
The R2-D2 card box is actually a trashcan my brother hand painted!
The table numbers. You got a crab badge if you were on Erik’s side or an anchor badge if you were from Kelley’s side!
The chocolate anchor and crabs!
There were various tables with different kinds of games and Erik made their very own cornhole game!
Camp Hoffman was the Girl Scouts Camp that Kelley went to as a girl. The ceremony was right on the water and the reception was at the Dining Hall. It was so beautiful!
The horse mask was a HUGE hit!
Instead of the traditional champagne toast, everyone got a shot of Jameson.
Erik, He is your father! and the campfire to end the night!
The last Dunkin Donuts of the trip!
Sunday we had lunch at Crazy Burger, drove around, stopped at Point Judith and gave my sister a temporary comb over.
And while we were waiting for our flight home, I kept us entertained with the Face Swap app!
I am still working on my wedding gift to the happy couple and will be sharing with you all after they see it first!
This post is dedicated to my Mom. I have been blessed with the best and most supportive mom a girl could want. Although I’ve caught on to her infamous.. “I’m just going to run into Walmart real quick.. I’ll just be a minute” line but I’ve learned the problem is that people like her and she’s friends with many. She even somehow manages to make friends in a “quick” Walmart run with complete strangers.
She has blessed my siblings and me with a pretty awesome upbringing. (I do have to credit my dad as well but its not fathers day.. now is it?) She was a stay at home mom and would help out with our preschool classes as well. It wasn’t until she was pregnant with my sister that our church asked her to be in charge of the “playgroup” which turned into Little Lambs Preschool and she is still the Director. She also is my favorite assistant to help with my photo shoots and those of you have already had sessions with me, know how awesome she is with kids.
I know I don’t say this enough. Mom, I love you. Thank you for EVERYTHING you have done and continue to do for me. Happy Mothers Day. You’re the best.
Just an idea of the fun we had and whats to come!
Over the past month or so, I have developed a skin condition called Perioral Dermatitis. Ever since, I’ve been researching the causes and symptoms. While most people struggling with this believe its mainly stress related (which this only made me stress more) there are a few things that can irritate your skin. I really think this is a blessing in disguise, although some days I don’t see that blessing, I’ve done a lot of research on health and beauty products. There are so many crazy ingredients into products that are horrible for you and I wont go back to using them! I’ve always been one to think if its on the shelf, its not bad. I mean we have rules and regulations for things you can sell. So it should be safe right? Wrong.
In my research I’ve found that sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which is almost EVERY cleaning and hygiene product out there, is a main cause/trigger to making it worse. Turns out SLS is a known skin irritant.. so why is it everything and even those so called “Natural” or “Organic” products that are supposed to be good for you? Well, it’s what helps create that lather in toothpaste, soaps, shampoo, etc.. I also read that its a shark repellent.. YES! Sharks, those scary creatures in the ocean that can eat you!
Anyways, I’ve been searching for products that aren’t bad for you and don’t contain these harsh chemicals. A friend suggested I look into the Honest Company. It is co-owned by the actress & mom of two, Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan, who is the former CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World (a national nonprofit empowering parents to protect their children from toxic risks).
They have an HONESTLY FREE GUARANTEE, which means you won’t find the following list of toxic nasties in the products or packaging: phthalates, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, PVC, parabens, benzene, chlorine, synthetic fragrances, triclosan, formaldehyde-based preserving agents, nanoparticles, TEA, MEA, phosphates, polyethylene glycol (PEG), quaternium 15, DMDM hydantoin, 1-4 dioxane, bisphenol-A (BPA), alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs)/nonylphenol, BHA, benzalkonium chloride. The main focus is having healthy products for your home & children. They have cute diaper sets, wipes & baby bottles. I’m going to do more research on other companies with products but I’m definitely going to try them out even more and hope it helps!
If you’d like to sign up for a free trial click here! You can cancel after you receive the sample, they send you a bunch of reminders so you don’t forget otherwise they’ll send you the full size bundle! I can’t wait to get my full sized one this week! *I’m not getting paid to write this, and I paid for my own bundle mailed to me!*
On Saturday we celebrated my birthday with my family. Its actually on the 11th but we had dinner early this year!
Some of my favorite quotes and a Woody and Jessie Pez dispenser.
The inflatable jet pack may or may not be used for this years Halloween Costume. 🙂 And since I have a major sweet tooth, the desert bar was a must!
Jessie’s Chocolate Bites, Buzz Lightyear’s Moon Rock Candy, Alien Cupcakes, Barbie & Ken’s Gum Balls and Bo Peep’s Marshmallow Pops!
Pizza Planet Cheeseball & Crackers and Hamm’s Roll Ups for Appetizers. I somehow managed to forget to get a pictures of Bullseye’s Meatballs, and thats probably because they were so delish! We gobbled them all up.
The alien cupcakes tasted a lot better than they may have looked. But you know.. we’re not up for Cupcake Wars.
The entertainment before dinner! Who knew a 14 year old and a 3 year old would get along so well with the same toy!
The sides for dinner were Baked Mr.Potato Heads and The Army Men’s Mixed Veggies!
And the main course, thanks to my chef brother, Rex’s Dinosaur Egg-Plant Parmesan and Slinky Dog’s Chicken Nuggets. It was amazing!
And of course they needed a picture of me with my Toy Story sweatshirt and sippy cup. My mom made Woody’s Ice Cream Cake and a picture of my beautiful birthday roses! Thanks for everyone who came over and helped me celebrate!
