Now I’d typically call this an Engagement Session but since Matt and Melissa were already married we’re calling it a Love Session! I had the honor of photographing their vow renewal ceremony but because most of the pictures they have are with their 4 kids they wanted some especially with the two of them!
The simple ceremony was at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD and the weather was perfect! I’ve been working away at editing their ceremony pictures and I can’t wait to share them with you.
This five on friday is a little different as all the images are from the same night!
1. Me and my momma! Waiting for everyone else to get to dinner to celebrate my dad’s new job!
2. Brio’s pineapple upside down cake. If you go to Brio and don’t order this, you are missing out. Probably my favorite ever!
3. My sister and her best friend wanted to match me. For the record, I was dressed first.
4. Family photo ya’ll! We rarely get everyone together and with my brother getting ready to move to Florida we know this wont happen very often!
5. My most photogenic model. She loves having her picture taken and this was one of the many faces that night
This post has been long overdue. Exactly a month ago I had the opportunity to travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to learn from two of my favorite photographers, Trisha and Madison. I’ve been able to get to know them online a bit over the past months and finally got to meet them in person! It is always fun to get together and talk to like minded photographers who understand where you’re at and know how to help you get better. This workshop was just that mixed with a lot of learning, shooting and a whole lot of fun.
On Friday I flew out to Tulsa for a workshop to ADVANCE my business. Madison of Madison Vining Photography and Trisha of TG Photography hosted the Advance Workshop. They shared all their tips and tricks from what “Must –Have” equipment, to posing, editing and marketing your business to be the best business it can be. Trisha picked me up from the airport and took me to Chick-fil-a before dropping me off at my hotel. I love her.
Trisha has the most adorable studio that gave me SERIOUS studio & prop envy. She specializes in newborn photography and is fantastic at what she does. Her images are so timeless and gorgeous! Madison is an on location photographer who loves senior girls and boudoir! Her signature sun-drenched images seriously are to die for. I wish she was photographing seniors when I was a senior in high school. These two entrepreneurs are amazing photographers and they know how to run a business and balance their family.
The first demonstration was newborns! We were lucky enough to have two perfect sleepy babies, one boy and one girl. Cohen was first and Preslee was next. We learned set ups and posing and of course newborn safety is the utmost importance.
In between the shoots we went through marketing our business and getting the most out of social media along with exactly how they edit their images. I’ve been having fun playing around the Photoshop actions and textures and all the goodies we received in our swag. The actions have cut down my editing time by hours. I’m obsessed!
The family session was a bit overwhelming for Asher at first but he of course warmed up to us and Raegan was workin’ it for everyone’s camera. She told us about her snake and chameleon and then caught a frog at one location!
Sydney. What do I even need to say about this stunning girl. I mean come on! Who looks like that in high school? Its not fair. But she was so amazing at modeling for all of us and kept up with all of the directions and all of the cameras. I had such an amazing time photographing her!
Is it wrong that my favorite part was winning prizes and getting swag? No.. didn’t think so. I won a Studio Baby posing puck and a newborn fabric backdrop! Then the bag of swag included a bunch of goodies and a USB full of actions, how to videos, templates and more. Plus this super cute bracelet that I want to wear all the time and never take off.
Saturday went by so quick! So Sunday I got to pack up, hung out with Trisha a little bit before heading back to the airport and heading home!
I did get a coaching call included and decided to pick Madison’s brain more on Seniors. I enjoyed it so much that it really made me want to start getting into the whole world of senior photography. I got to photograph this family just after their twins turned one! As I was portfolio building I photographed the twins as newborns last year. Its so fun to watch them grow over the first year! 
Older brothers and sisters are a big help at sessions. They always know the silly things to do to get their siblings to smile and laugh.
I mean really? Can you have any cuter kids? Thank you for letting me photograph your gorgeous family! I’m glad I could help you finally get a pictures of all six of you together!
I said after my brothers wedding I would have awesome pictures.. And while I have a few images from the weekend. I realized… I didn’t take a picture of the happy couple. Well, minus the few I snapped with my iPhone. Truth is, I wanted to enjoy myself, and while I enjoy taking photographs, it was nice not worrying about taking pictures. They hired the wonderful Michelle, who is the owner and photographer of Dimery Photography! So I left it to the professional! She also gave me permission to share the sneak peak which we all LOVE. We can’t wait to see the rest!

But now onto the weekend..
We started Thursday off way too early for my liking and flew up from BWI first thing in the AM. Dunkin Donuts is a recurring theme in this trip. 
After we landed, got to the hotel and changed we went exploring in Newport. We ended up at The Black Pearl for lunch and sat outside. Although we ALL forgot sunglasses and it was painfully bright out.
My Dad and brother got Duck Salads while my little sister got a huge bacon cheeseburger! 
We took a walk around the harbor and stopped in a few shops!
For dinner we went to Duffy’s Tavern and Restaurant, where they have Chicken Maryland, and Maryland Crab Cakes. The Chicken Maryland was delicious!
Of course they had to get Lobster!
And more and more and more seafood!
Fell asleep at the decorating party, woke up with a fluffy dog on top of me.
Friday was a day of setting up and getting everything ready at Camp Hoffman.
We had signs to make and centerpieces to put together, along with other decorations and lights to hang.

Friday Night was the “Rehearsal Dinner” where everyone in town was welcome to join at Salvation Cafe!
Guess what.. My dress had pockets and that makes it 100x’s better.
The R2-D2 card box is actually a trashcan my brother hand painted!
The table numbers. You got a crab badge if you were on Erik’s side or an anchor badge if you were from Kelley’s side!
On the RSVP cards we were asked to draw a pictures or decorate the back of the card and they were on display for everyone to see!

Camp Hoffman was the Girl Scouts Camp that Kelley went to as a girl. The ceremony was right on the water and the reception was at the Dining Hall. It was so beautiful!

Instead of the traditional champagne toast, everyone got a shot of Jameson.

Sunday we had lunch at Crazy Burger, drove around, stopped at Point Judith and gave my sister a temporary comb over.
And while we were waiting for our flight home, I kept us entertained with the Face Swap app!
I am still working on my wedding gift to the happy couple and will be sharing with you all after they see it first!
I can’t believe its been over a year since I’ve taken these photos. Timothy has definitely gotten much bigger than the sweet sleepy newborn in this photograph!
With a little photoshopping magic, you can get a great family portrait with some head swaping!

Yesterday we celebrated my brothers 28th birthday and my grandmothers.. 39th birthday! 😉
Even though its supposed to snow on Wednesday I can hope Spring is around the corner. Just waiting for flowers to bloom.

On Sunday we celebrated my future Sister-In-Law, Kelley’s birthday with an Alice in Wonderland theme!
My mom turned the flask into a heart lollipop vase & I hung up the cards, dress and keys to the window. The White rabbit was next to a jar.. that was supposed to be filled with cookies…. Ooops!
Even though it has recently snowed we had some flamingos stop by and the talking doorknob was a simple print out I added to the door!
The mini Alice was actually from a happy meal toy I got years ago. Which I used for a school project as well. 
Whats a tea party with out tea cups? And we didn’t forget to get the Queen red roses!
For appetizers we had Bill the Lizard’s Olive Cheese Spread and Crackers, The Caterpillar’s Stuffed Mushrooms and Dormouse’s Cheese Dip and Tortilla Chips!
Maeby is Erik and Kelley’s baby dog.. although she had the body of a pig and snorts like one too. We love her anyway.
Dinner included The White Queen’s Spinach Pasta, The White Rabbit’s Tossed Salad, March Hare’s Glazed Carrots and The Cheshire Cat’s Crab Cakes!
We sang happy birthday & she got to blow out her candles on a tower of cupcakes of course!
For dessert we ate Alice’s Lemon Cupcakes, The Queen of Heart’s Chocolate Bites, and Tweedledee & Tweedledums Chocolate Covered Vodka Soaked Strawberries. (The recipe and how to is coming later this week! You don’t want to miss it!) 
Someone had a little bit too much fun. She’s quite the party animal.
I can’t wait for the wedding! I got my plane tickets booked. Rhode Island here we come!
How cute is Elijah? With those baby blues and such a happy personality, he was perfect to photograph!
This little boy was adopted into one of the best families. He is not only loved by his parents but he is ridiculously adored by his two big sisters.
The whole family including their lovable dog, Libby! I had such a great time getting to know all!
